WELCOME TO CANAL HOUSE AMSTERDAM
In our monumental canal house (early 18th Century), located in the historical centre of Amsterdam right next to the trendy ‘Jordaan’ area (from the French for ‘garden’), we have 2 fully furnished apartments on offer for your holiday or other short-term stay in the city.
Our house is situated on the Brouwersgracht with a view of the beginning of the Prinsengracht and the Keizersgracht and is the perfect embodiment of picturesque Amsterdam! The photos to the side are the view from the building. Not only are we in love with this spot, our canal was recently chosen as ‘the most beautiful street of Amsterdam’ by the readers of an Amsterdam newspaper.
Our neighborhood combines a central location with amiable peace and quiet and a minimum amount of traffic.
Our house is at 10 minute walking distance from both the Central Railway Station and the central ‘Dam’ square. Characteristics of the ‘Jordaan’, as our neighbourhood is referred to are its friendly, easy-going atmosphere, the large number of small shops and art galleries lining its narrow streets and canals, the famous ‘organic’ food market on Saturdays (right across the bridge from our house), and a diverse array of small-scale cafes and restaurants.
The two apartments are located on the first and second floors of the rear section of the house, overlooking beautiful and peaceful gardens typical of the canal area. The rear part of the house, an architectural feature of 17th and 18th century canal buildings in Amsterdam, is semi-detached from the rest of the house, ensuring sufficient privacy for our guests.
